Last evening visiting Solihull Lodge 8088 in Dorridge.
A presentation on the death of HB illustrated by photos of the 10 wall plaques that hang in Keynsham Masonic Temple. An excellent and enlightening evening. Thank you Richard At a special meeting of Provincial Grand Lodge of Somerset to be held at Yatton Masonic Hall, on Friday 20th September 2019, Bro Simon Jump will receive Provincial Honours and invested as Past Provincial Grand Standard Bearer.
@SaltfordLge8633 Chaplain's visit to Home Lodge No 721 in Los Angeles, @MasonsofCA. Many thanks to the Worshipful Master Artin Aladadyan, Officers and Brethren for a very warm welcome on my bi-annual visit. Also to my host, Worshipful Brother @michaeldavid30
We are now providing online web access to all our registered brethren for minutes and summonsYes - first post today and we already have followers. It was a bit of a battle to sort out the process for building and using lists
Well who would have thought it! The Lodge committee has approved the publication of all minutes and summonses on the website - albeit in a closed membership section. I am now working on those members of the lodge who have a connection to the worldwide web to get them registered.
I have also been given another hat to wear - Lodge Information Officer (that should be interesting!) Just back from a very interesting trip to California and managed to fit in a visit to Home Lodge, of which they have made me an honorary member. We have had a very busy first half of the year and now officially closed until we restart in October Well here we are with Christmas behind us and 2017 fast approaching! A very happy gathering round the Festive Board early in the month and I was asked to lead the carol singing this month. I must admit I approached it with some trepidation as I am a choral singer rather than a soloist, but it seemed to go well and I had some very favourable comments afterwards. I suppose the acid test will be if I am asked to do it again next Christmas! It is very pleasing to see more young Masons joining and it will be interesting to investigate the averaged age of the brethren as it would appear to be falling.
I would like to wish you all a very happy, healthy and prosperous 2017 from the Master, officers and brethren of Saltford Lodge At this time in the year when we traditionally enjoy ourselves with friends and family, we must also be heedful of those alone and those caught up with the disastrous flooding that has hit many parts of the country.
I was fortunate to spend time with my family over Christmas, including our family members from the US who are back in the UK to renew their Visas. However I have had a very strange New Year celebration as I am currently now in Mali, West Africa until the 8th January! I hope to be with you in the Temple and at the Festive Board in February. The KMH Wall Plaques have finally been photographed, annotated and posted on this site.
Thanks must be recorded for W Bro Tony Allan for his able assistance as photographer's mate and to W Bro Elliott Borthwick for supplying the text for each Plaque. They can be found at the link under 'Lodge history' on the main bar and also from the 'Links and Blogs' section under 'Keynsham Masonic Hall' |
